I have a day or multi-day pass. Can I reschedule if I can’t go up the mountain on a specific day?
Yes, you can reschedule up to 7 days in advance, subject to the capacity available on the day you want to reschedule to. You will need to contact the team to do so and may need to pay a price difference if the new day you choose is at a higher rate.
What do I need to wear on the mountain?
What do I need to wear on the mountain?
The resorts recommend you wrap up warm even on sunny days. They suggest you wear waterproof pants and a jacket, a warm hat and waterproof gloves. Because UV levels are higher at altitude, eye protection is essential, and sunscreen is recommended whether the weather is fine or not. You can rent jackets and pants up the mountain, and if you have forgotten something, gloves, goggles, hats, and other accessories are all available for purchase in the Retail Store.
How do I get to Cardrona?
How do I get to Cardrona?
Getting to Cardrona is easy, no matter where you're staying! Located in the heart of the Southern Alps, it's a short drive from Wanaka, Queenstown & Arrowtown.
DRIVING TO CARDRONA
Cardrona is just a short hop over the Crown Range from Queenstown Airport, so it's super easy to pick up your rental car and drive straight here!
Cardrona is located in a high alpine environment, with weather that can change quickly. The resort is located at the top of a 14km long, unsealed access road, so please take care and keep to the left to maintain 2-way traffic the whole way.
Both the Crown Range road and the Cardrona mountain road can be affected by snowfall, so it's best to always carry chains and know how to use them.
If you don't want to drive the whole way up the mountain road, there are free mountain shuttles from the Pine Trees carpark, located at the 1km mark on the access road.
Buses are also available, and more information can be found here.
How do I get to Treble Cone? What is the access road like?
How do I get to Treble Cone? What is the access road like?
The access road from the Mt Aspiring Road turn-off to the Base Building is 7km long. It is a gravel road that is maintained daily during the winter. A 4WD vehicle is not necessary, and a 2WD is perfectly adequate to drive up the road. However, you are required to carry chains and fit them when necessary if weather and snow conditions are poor for driving.
Alternatively, you can jump on our free shuttle from the bottom of the access road or let us do the whole drive for you and purchase a bus ticket from Wanaka. Find out more about transport here.
The Resort encourages using shuttle buses and carpooling to try and reduce transport emissions. Carpark A at Treble Cone is reserved for cars with three occupants or more. Non-carpooling vehicles can still come up; they just have to park slightly further away.
