This is an exciting grade 5 rafting experience and is NOT suited for older people or those that aren't comfortable in the water.
No experience on your part is necessary as full and comprehensive training will be given.
Basic swimming skills, good water confidence, and moderate English skills are essential! You will also need to have a reasonable level of fitness, and a sense of adventure.
The tour is GoPro friendly - if you have one feel free to bring it along. Please bring a chest mount or alternatively, the supplier has a limited supply available to rent.
Yes. All participants should be able to swim due to the grade 5 nature of the river. This tour also includes a cliff jump during the tour.
Yes. This tour is only suitable for those under 120kg. The tour operator reserves the right to refuse entry to those over 120kg.

Finally some good weather showed up as did we for the start of this rafting trip down the Wairoa. Once we were kitted out, we boarded the minibus to head up to the launch point just below the McLaren Falls. Good, friendly briefing and practice of commands, then we headed down with the other rafts. Good to be able to do the drops and see others doing so too - gives a good perspective of what actually just happened! Only ejected x1 team member of the way down and he was fine and recovered without any fuss. 1 x cliff jump added to the opportunity to test your mettle... Great day out and well worth the effort to be involved. My wife, who had never rafted ever before, loved it and was fine - for a reference point. Recommended.

Guide had us all working together and it seemed like we approached every rapid in the best position we could. Great job all around. Highly recommend!

We had the most amazing time today. Our guide was the best, with his knowledge of the river and a great sense of humor. This was, by far, one of the coolest river outfitters I've ever seen!

The rapids were super fun. The scenery was beautiful. And our guide was the best guide we've had. My family and I had previously rafted and this was the highest level rapids we've experienced

This was a good rush of adrenaline after lunch. Our tour guide, made our magical day safe for us. It was just a perfect experience!!

Our guide was great. The whole experience was a breeze, from check in, to rafting. The facilities were clean and organized. Would defiantly return for more exciting river rafting thrills.
