Frequently Asked Questions

Can anyone book the Sydney Gap Year Intro?

This experience is designed for all travellers aged 18-30 to kickstart their time in Australia. Most of the travellers are Working Holiday Makers or Students.

Various visa options are available depending on your reason for travelling to Australia. If you are planning a Working Holiday, you must apply for a 417 or 462 visa. You can still book on a Tourist Visa, but you will not be eligible for the Gap Year support elements of the package.

If you are eligible for a Working Holiday Visa, you can come and work in Australia for up to 12 months. Only certain countries are available for a 417 and 462 Working Holiday Visa. To see if you hold a permitted passport, check out the eligibility requirements here.

Here’s what you need to do:

  • Arrange a Working Holiday Visa

  • Book your Arrival Package

  • Book your flights to Australia

  • Arrange a travel insurance policy by clicking here

  • Pack your bag, grab your passport & camera and jump on that plane!

These packages are the perfect way to make friends as soon as you arrive in Australia! Many people who travel arrive solo, but by the end of the first week, you'll have a whole group of new friends to stay in touch with for the rest of your trip. You'll have loads of fun and get to know each other during your first few days together.

And when your arrival package comes to an end, the crew is there to provide resources and help you find accommodation or plan your travels around Australia with your new mates.

Once you've booked your Gap Year tour, the crew will email you a confirmation along with some important information about your booking. Then, closer to your tour departure date, they'll be in touch to provide you with all the information you'll need prior to your trip to Australia. Finally, when you've booked your flights, just let them know your flight number, and they'll take care of the rest!

Working Travel and Arrival packages include 12-Month job support to help you get started in your new adventure. During your first week, the crew will provide you with valuable information on finding work in Australia, including tips on where to look, how to apply, and what you can expect to earn. They'll also give you access to the Travellers At Work job database, so you can start applying for jobs right away. And if you need any additional guidance, just swing by for a one-on-one session with one of the in-house work and travel experts. They can review your CV and help you tailor your application to suit Australian employers. Get ready to start your new career Down Under!

In most cases, the Operator can cater to Vegetarian and Gluten Free diets. They will make every effort to cater to all other diets and needs but are unable to guarantee this will be possible in every location you visit. Unfortunately, they can not cater for tastes or dislikes. The Operator will ask you to re-confirm any dietary requirements with your Group Leader at the start of your trip.

If you have an existing medical condition or disability that may affect your trip or how The Operator delivers the experience, they ask that you inform them in writing at the time of your booking. You may be asked to obtain a medical certificate, and if they reasonably feel they are unable to accommodate your particular needs, they reserve the right to decline your booking.
